One night in Bangkok (Soi 11 Style)

One night in Bangkok can go an endless amount of ways. A whirlwind night eyeing the beautiful ladies at one of Bangkok’s several red light districts. Blacking out on buckets on Khao San Road among a throng of boisterous backpackers. Hanging with the young locals over in the massive clubs in RCA. Chilling with expats over fine wine and aperitifs over in the Thonglor district. But there’s one area everyone can agree on: Sukhumvit Soi 11. Heading down this premier party street, it’s got a little something for everyone. Delicious food, cheap beer, swanky bars, hidden gems, and some of the top clubs in all of Asia await.

Book a Bangkok hotel via Trailfinders and get ready for some of the best spots that Bangkok has to offer. Below is an itinerary of the ideal night out on Soi 11. Make sure you request late checkout, you’re going to need it.

Cheap Charlie’s
A small eclectic bar with no roof, mishmash furnishings, and a few coveted tables, this dive bar is legendary. It attracts a melting pot of amicable expats, tourists, and a few Thais eager to strike up a conversation. With beers starting at 60 baht and tequila shots at an incredible 70 baht, it’s the best place to start your night off right.

Address: Above 100 meters down Sukhumvit Soi 11 on the left hand side, past Zanzibar Restaurant

Above Eleven
32 floors above Soi 11 is this sleek two-storey rooftop bar. Trendy and modern, the bar is constructed of primarily glass and metal, with the occasional wooden wheelbarrow chair and fake greenery. Make sure to come hungry as the Japanese/Peruvian fusion dishes are mouthwatering. But let’s face it: it’s all about the view. Come in early to grab prime seating to watch the Bangkok sunset while sipping on one of their spendy, but well constructed cocktails.

Address: Fraser Suites, Sukhumvit Soi 11

Q Bar
Everyone talks about Bed Supperclub, but nobody forgets Q Bar.  This club has remained fresh and fashionable even after ten years. Catering to a more mature clientele, it’s frequented by the beautiful and the famous. You never know who you’ll rub shoulders with. The décor is unreal—funky and futuristic, with animal print seating and a kaleidoscope of lighting effects. The resident DJs get the crowd grooving with hip-hop and techno fare. Don’t let the small dance floor disappoint you; its intimate size makes it a friendly yet exclusive establishment.

Address: 34 Sukhumvit Soi 11

When Q-Bar closes around 3, the night is only halfway done. There are many after-hours clubs in Bangkok—most are hard to find and almost all are seedy. Bash has come in to change all of that. After you pay the 300 baht entrance fee (+1 free drink), a dwarf escorts you to the party in an old-school elevator. It’s quite the entrance. As there’s no closing time, you can dance all night under the dazzling lightshow. Can you make it ‘til daybreak?

Address: 37 Sukhumvit Soi 11
